The Indian Business and Professional Council (IBPC Dubai) has convened its Annual General Meeting (AGM) this weekend, highlighting its strategic role as a key facilitator of Indo-UAE collaboration and advancing bilateral economic ties.
Chairman Siddharth Balachandran emphasized the enduring ties between the UAE and India, noting that IBPC Dubai continues to serve as a unifying platform for the Indian business community in the Emirates. He underscored the Council’s transformation journey, describing it as a forward-looking institution driving collaboration, resilience, and shared prosperity.
The AGM highlighted a year of notable growth and engagement for IBPC Dubai, including a significant expansion in membership and enhanced inclusivity, with increased female participation across its initiatives.
Dr. Sahitya Chaturvedi was confirmed for a second tenure as Secretary General, providing continuity and stability to the council’s strategic agenda.
The AGM also appointed Focus Group Convenors to lead critical sectors including Health, Education, Wellness, and Pharma, led by Sreekumar Brahmanandan of Dubai Investment Industries; Financial Services and Capital Markets, by Sunny Narang of HSBC; Tech, Digital, and Innovation, by Karthik Raman of RevDau; Professional and Business Services, by James Mathew of UHY James; Real Estate and Built Environment, by Rajiv Neelivethil of ESPA; Energy and Climate, by Advait Thakur; and Hospitality and Tourism, by Amit Vardhan of Prism Advertising.
Looking ahead, IBPC Dubai is preparing to host two flagship initiatives: the West Asia Business Conclave in April 2026 and the Family Business Conference in May 2026.
Both platforms aim to bolster cross-border partnerships, promote thought leadership, and strengthen institutional engagement across the region.
