Ikea has innovated a cushion which can be converted into cozy wearable quilt.

The pandemic and movement restrictions due to it has made us sit more in the comforts of our home and many of us have become well-acquainted with the cozy appeal of loungewear in the past year, but one of IKEA’s newest releases might be even cozier than that.

The Swedish furniture store has brought out a crossover between a cushion and a quilt which can be aptly called as a ‘quillow’, the Faltmal is a green quilt that can be converted from a compact cushion into a cozy, wearable sleeping bag.

IKEA’s latest innovation has been designed much like its other products, it is multifunctional that can be folded to save space and it will be a unique addition to many wardrobes.

Made from 100 percent recycled polyester, the Faltmal comes only in a single color, dark green with orange zipper lining. When zipped, the product can be used as a cushion with a fishnet side pocket for storage and when opened it’s long enough to cover the length of your body with two sleeves and a button fastener in the back.

The Faltmal is described as a “cushion/quilt that keeps you warm and comfy when traveling, relaxing in the hammock, or cuddling up on the sofa” on the IKEA website. The product is currently available in the US, priced at $34.99 and it is set to be launched in the UK by next month.

Despite its unique appearance, IKEA explained that it’s ideal for traveling. Swedish retailer intends for the product to be used as warmer weather arrives in the US and Europe and outdoor activities become more common.

“Whether enjoying a celebratory evening with friends or swapping the traditional summer holiday for a camping staycation with the family, the Faltmal quilt will help wearers stay cozy and warm once the sun goes down,” IKEA said in a statement.
