JAX District, Saudi Arabia’s premier creative hub under the Diriyah Biennale Foundation, has introduced JAX Flavors, a culinary initiative that showcases the region’s diverse food entrepreneurs and drives innovation within Riyadh’s growing gastronomic scene.

Home to multidisciplinary artists, cultural organizations, and pioneering creative concepts, and the site of landmark cultural events such as the Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale, JAX District is committed to incubating bold ideas and offering diverse audiences fresh, inspiring, and memorable experiences.

Building on this vision, the district now extends its cultural placemaking mission into the realm of culinary innovation. JAX Flavors provides both emerging and established chefs from Saudi Arabia and across the wider region with a dynamic platform to experiment with new culinary concepts, showcase their creativity, reach broader audiences, and actively contribute to Diriyah’s ever-evolving and vibrant creative ecosystem.

Seasonal activation welcomes a range of cuisines and approaches to food, from zero-waste food concepts and artisanal bakeries to street food innovations and full-service dining experiences. Selected concepts will operate within the industrial heritage site for 2-6 months, coinciding with major art, design, music, and fashion events taking place throughout the season.

The JAX Flavors program places particular emphasis on encouraging culinary concepts that foster meaningful community connections and prioritize responsible sourcing practices. It actively seeks fresh propositions from both emerging and established food ventures based in Saudi Arabia and across the region, with a focus on ideas that embody regional authenticity while reflecting the evolving spirit of the local gastronomy scene.

The application deadline for JAX Flavors is set for September 15. Priority consideration will be given to culinary concepts that showcase market uniqueness, compelling storytelling around ingredients and sourcing, and a clear commitment to using high-quality ingredients with sustainable practices. Applicants are also expected to demonstrate full operational readiness to ensure the successful execution of their concepts.
