Saleh bin Ali Al Turki, the Mayor of the Governorate of Jeddah has initiated work on the Al Nawras Island development project as part of the Saudi Vision 2030 Humanization of Cities initiative.

The initiative intends to promote the quality of life in Jeddah by rising the per capita share of green spaces and recreational spaces and expanding the number of sports practitioners.

From hotel guesthouses to a public plan that welcomes both waterfront tourists and Jeddah citizens, the concept of the project has been updated and intends to be a perfect tourist destination in the city of the Red Sea.

Al Nawras Island will be connected to the waterfront and the project will stretch along the island with a 25-meter walkway and a length in both directions reaching 2000 meters, including several restaurants, cafes, recreational and artistic centers.

The project also includes a movie theatre with an area of over 3,700 square meters including six halls with a total capacity of 800 people and a marina with galleries, a women’s multi-purpose beach with an area of over 4,000 square meters, a fitness club in addition to the games area, and many entertainment activities to hold all sections of the population and all age groups.

The restaurants and facilities in the region will be operated by foreign franchise firms, and Saudi talents and entrepreneurs will be funded for their initiations.

The project, which has 25,000 square meters of corridors to Jeddah Corniche, is expected to welcome more than 3,000 guests per hour and have more than 1,000 parking spaces.

There will be a ballroom and a marina club, which can entertain over 1000 visitors and a boat club and berths that can handle up to 90 boats.
