Kuwait Airways has confirmed a gradual increase in flights operating from Terminal 4 at Kuwait International Airport under a phased operational plan aimed at maintaining safety and security.
The national carrier said that the gradual expansion of operations is being carried out in close coordination with the Ministry of Interior of Kuwait and the General Directorate of Civil Aviation, with security and operational considerations remaining a top priority.
The airline noted that operations at Terminal 4 currently remain partial, with flights running for approximately eight to ten hours daily due to ongoing security-related and operational safety requirements.
The suspension of foreign transit flights stopping at Kuwait International Airport also remains in effect during the current phase.
As part of efforts to accommodate growing travel demand ahead of the Eid Al Adha holiday period, Kuwait Airways has increased flights to London to one daily service.
Kuwait International Airport has adjusted some flight schedules in May due to the transfer of certain operations from Dammam Airport in Saudi Arabia.
The company explained that international approvals and operating permits are required for direct flights departing from Kuwait, noting that permits previously issued for flights operating from Dammam differ from those needed for departures from Kuwait Airport.
Kuwait Airways stressed that the rescheduling of flights should not be viewed as permanent cancellations but rather as part of operational adjustments aimed at aligning schedules with updated permits and available capacity.
Passengers holding confirmed bookings would be offered alternative travel dates as close as possible to their original reservations.
Customers whose flights are rescheduled will be provided with flexible options, including a ‘Full Ticket Refund’ or retaining the value as ‘E-Wallet Credit’ for future use.
These facilities are intended to mitigate the impact of temporary operational adjustments and provide alternatives that suit passenger needs.
The airline reiterated that its current operational strategy is focused on balancing the travel needs of citizens and residents while maintaining the highest levels of operational safety and security until full operations are gradually restored.
Kuwait Airways also urged customers to monitor their booking status and make reservations through the airline’s official website, mobile application, or sales offices.
