Kuwait’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has banned nationals from 7 countries who have spent the last 14 days in the respective country from entering into Kuwait.

The Authority said that it was not a ban on the nationals from these countries but travel from these countries itself.

Natives of Bangladesh, Philippines, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Iran, and Nepal who have spent the last 14 days in these countries will not be allowed to enter Kuwait as they will be only permitted to travel back to the nation through specified procedures as long as they are traveling from other countries, which are among the permitted list of countries.

This means that nationals of these 7 banned countries, for example, an Indian can travel to another country (which is on the permitted list of Kuwait’s DGCA) and after staying for 14 days can enter Kuwait as long as they have a PCR certificate proving they are coronavirus negative and follow the health procedures.

Airlines flying to these nations will have to schedule as one-way travel as they will be allowed to fly travelers from Kuwait to these nations but will not be able to carry passengers back from these regions to the nation.

Kuwait is expected to partially resume commercial flights from August but does not expect to reach full capacity until a year later, as its aviation sector gradually recovers from a suspension sparked by the COVID-19 crisis.
