Lockheed Martin and Pioneers Technical Systems (PTS) have joined forces to establish the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s first PAC-3 ground depot.
The facility will provide testing, repair, and certification of PAC-3 launcher components for the Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces’ PATRIOT missile defense system.
Lockheed Martin will deliver new and enhanced testing capabilities and train Pioneers technicians, with the depot expected to reach full operational capability by 2029.
The new unit will significantly reduce repair cycles, increase operational availability of Integrated Air and Missile Defense systems (IAMD), and enhance the Kingdom’s air and missile defense readiness.
The project aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 objectives by promoting domestic industrial growth and capability development. PTS brings extensive expertise in electronics, circuit card assemblies, and cable manufacturing, complementing the depot’s technical requirements.
Jason Reynolds, Vice President of IAMD at Lockheed Martin, stated that, “Recent real-world operations have driven unprecedented demand for PAC-3. To meet this demand, Lockheed Martin is accelerating production and delivery of this essential defense capability to global customers. This initiative is part of our broader commitment in the Kingdom to build local technical capacity, support jobs, and strengthen the resilience of the global defense industrial base.”
Ziyad Almohaimeed, CEO of Pioneers Technical Systems, commented that, “the partnership represents a pivotal step in establishing a sovereign, Saudi-led sustainment capability for critical air and missile defense systems. By performing PAC-3 launcher testing and repair domestically, we strengthen national readiness and develop skilled Saudi talent to sustain these systems for the long term.”
