Expo 2030 Riyadh Company has awarded a contract to Buro Happold, a British engineering, design and advisory consultancy, to prepare the detailed master plan for Expo 2030 Riyadh, including infrastructure design, landscaping, and facilities, serving as the project’s lead consultant and supporting its sustainable legacy.
This partnership marks a pivotal milestone that reflects Saudi Arabia’s ambition to deliver an exceptional and unprecedented edition of the Expo 2030 Riyadh.
Under the agreement, Buro Happold will provide an integrated suite of services to develop the detailed master plan, focusing on the requirements of the Expo and the site’s long-term sustainable legacy after the event.
The company will also carry out a detailed design for infrastructure, facilities, landscaping, and outdoor space coordination, as well as provide engineering and technical support during the construction phase. This step will help ensure that the Expo 2030 site is fully prepared in accordance with the highest standards of innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence.
Expo 2030 Riyadh is expected to host around 197 participating countries and receive more than 42 million visits across a site spanning nearly six million square meters. The event will serve as a unique platform for discussing shared global challenges and showcasing innovative solutions that contribute to shaping a more sustainable future.
