Expo 2030 Riyadh and Expo 2027 Belgrade have signed a cooperation agreement on a structured knowledge transfer and observer program.

The agreement supports the exchange of expertise between the organizing teams of the World Expo in Riyadh and the Specialized Expo in Belgrade.

The partnership establishes a framework for both Expo teams to exchange experiences, insights, and best practices across planning, operational readiness, live event delivery, and legacy development.

It strengthens institutional capabilities and maintains cooperation as both organizations continue preparations for their respective events.

Under the memorandum of understanding (MoU), representatives from Expo 2030 Riyadh and Expo 2027 Belgrade will participate in site visits, observer programs, workshops, expert exchanges, and other collaborative activities.

These initiatives support the sharing of operational experience, lessons learned, and practical approaches to Expo planning and delivery.

The cooperation will cover governance, site development, participant management, operational readiness, digital systems, and live event operations.

The organizers stated that the agreement provides a structured mechanism for exchanging knowledge across operational and management functions relevant to hosting international Expos.

Talal AlMarri, Chief Executive Officer of Expo 2030 Riyadh, noted that the agreement reflects the importance of cooperation between successive Expo organizers.

AlMarri highlighted that knowledge transfer contributes to delivery planning, supports institutional continuity, and helps reduce operational risks during preparations.

Danilo Jerinić, Director of Expo 2027 Belgrade, remarked that the agreement supports cooperation between the two host organizations and contributes to the long-term knowledge base of the global Expo platform.

Jerinić added that the experience gained by professionals working on Expo 2027 Belgrade would provide practical value for future international events, including Expo 2030 Riyadh.

The agreement was signed during a ceremony in Belgrade attended by Dimitri Kerkentzes, Secretary General of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), as part of the official visit by the Expo 2030 Riyadh delegation to Serbia.

Kerkentzes commented that each Expo should build on the experience of previous editions through the exchange of knowledge between host organizations.

The Expo 2030 Riyadh delegation also held a series of meetings with Expo 2027 Belgrade officials, received a briefing on preparations for the International Participants Meeting (IPM), and toured the Expo site to review progress and exchange operational information.
