The Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monsha’at) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) at the Biban Forum, aiming to strengthen entrepreneurship ties between Saudi Arabia and Japan.​

The MoU was signed by Deputy Governor for Entrepreneurship at Monsha’at Saud bin Khalid Al-Sebhan and Chairman and CEO of JETRO Norihiko Ishiguro. It aims to accelerate economic cooperation and mutual growth between Saudi Arabia and Japan.

Designed to boost bilateral business development by creating new networking channels, facilitating investment opportunities, and supporting SMEs in both countries. By encouraging cross-border entrepreneurship, the agreement helps startups and business owners expand internationally, enter new markets, and engage in collaborative ventures.

Additionally, the partnership with with Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) fosters knowledge exchange through joint workshops, training programs, information sharing, and best practice initiatives designed to enhance skills, competitiveness, and innovation across both nations. This collaboration underlines a shared commitment to strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem, institutional capabilities, and sustainable development for SMEs.

WIth the MoU, Monsha’at and JETRO aims to strengthen cooperation in the field of entrepreneurship between Saudi Arabia and Japan by fostering knowledge exchange, inviting both parties to specialized events, and supporting joint initiatives and projects that empower enterprises to access new markets.

The Monsha’at- JETRO collaboration aligns with Monsha’at’s efforts to enhance international partnerships and create new global expansion opportunities for Saudi entrepreneurs, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

Biban Forum 2025 is taking place from November 5 to 8 at the Riyadh Front Exhibition and Conference Center, under the inspiring theme ‘A Global Destination for Opportunities’. The event features workshops, courses, mentoring, and programs on entrepreneurship, e-commerce, franchising, investment, startups, and innovation, gathering global enablers and investors to support SME growth and access to funding.
