A Namibian top government and tourism delegation is visiting the UAE to showcase the country’s unique attractions and heritage.

The delegation led by Mr. Pohamba Shifeta, Minister of Environment, Forestry, and Tourism, and Mr. Digu Naobeb, CEO of Namibia Tourism Board, will discuss the travel and tourism opportunities offered by the Namibia Tourism Board with partners, the media, and agents.

The representatives will emphasize the country’s fascinating attractions as a must-see tourist destination on the southwestern coast of the African continent, which is known for its clear blue sky, sunlight, unpolluted air, unforgettable wildlife encounters, and stargazing.

The delegation will showcase the best places to visit and the destination’s positive, social, economic and environmental approach for the tourism industry that meets the needs of travelers from different backgrounds.

Mr. Pohamba Shifeta stated that “We are delighted to share our new developments for tourism and efforts to help rebuild trust in travel and showcase our country’s appeal to potential visitors around the globe. We are in the UAE to highlight our country’s strengths and offer a short glimpse into our culture and our common interests, as we have a lot to offer in terms of exceptional service and experiences”

Meanwhile, Mr. Digu Naobeb remarked that “The pandemic put a reset on where people go and what they do, focusing on wellbeing, seeking space and opportunities to reconnect with nature. We offer the perfect fit for the kind of traveler seeking these experiences and we would like to be at the forefront of their mind when they look for new adventures and destinations.”

During the presentation, the delegation which includes Namibia’s leading tour operators offering travel packages spoke directly about the country’s opportunities. They pointed out that getting to Namibia via Cape Town and Johannesburg is easier than ever.

A promising destination, Namibia’s essence is undeniable in its people, their warmth, culture, history and gastronomy. The economy is based on agriculture, fishing, mining and tourism. Similar to the UAE, Namibia’s seven cluster regions with endless opportunities and diversity and continue to be one of the most beautiful countries in the world with a kaleidoscope of activities and adventures for tourists.
