The National Livestock and Fisheries Development Program (NLFDP) of Saudi Arabia has launched the Biotech Park project in Riyadh, the world’s first city dedicated to veterinary biotechnology.
The announcement to launch Biotech Park project in Riyadh came during the Future of Vet Biotechnology Conference (VET TECH), which is being held from December 2 to 3, 2025, at the JW Marriott Hotel Riyadh.
Located in Dhurma Governorate, Riyadh Region, the Biotech Park project aims to serve as a national hub supporting all regions of the Kingdom, while also providing a platform that extends its services to the GCC, the Middle East, Africa, and eventually global markets.
The Biotech Park project in Riyadh will feature a state-of-the-art laboratory and is designed to attract leading international companies specializing in the development and localization of vaccines and veterinary products, as well as serving as a base for the regional headquarters of global firms.
This initiative will enhance the efficiency of the livestock and animal health system, improve productivity, reduce economic losses, and strengthen supply chains by facilitating the production of high-quality national products and the adoption of advanced diagnostic solutions.
The VET TECH conference is part of the NLFDP’s efforts to modernize the livestock and fisheries sector, enhance its operational and technological efficiency, and boost its preparedness for health challenges. These efforts contribute to ensuring the sector’s sustainability and increasing the reliability of food supply chains, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 objectives to support food and health security and develop promising sectors.
The conference addresses specialized topics, including the development of animal health systems through veterinary vaccines, diagnostics for disease-causing pathogens, and research and innovation tools to reduce epidemic risks.
