The Saudi National Water Company (NWC) has successfully implemented and commenced operations of a major water transmission and pumping system serving the mountainous governorates of the Jazan region.

Valued at more than $23.7 million (SAR89 million), the project includes the construction of extensive water transmission lines, storage reservoirs, and distribution facilities designed to overcome the geographical challenges of the region.

The initiative aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which prioritizes sustainable development and improved public services, particularly in underserved areas.

The infrastructure development comprises over 41 kilometers of transmission pipelines, enabling efficient water transport across mountainous terrain.

In addition, two operational reservoirs have been established, each with a storage capacity of 2,000 cubic meters, ensuring reliable water availability.

The project also includes six tanker filling stations with a combined distribution capacity of approximately 20,000 cubic meters per day, supporting flexible and widespread water distribution.

According to NWC, the completed system will benefit more than 89,000 residents across several governorates, including Al-Rith, Al-Aidabi, Al-Ardhah, Harub, Al-Dayer, and Fifa.

The initiative is expected to significantly improve access to high-quality water, enhancing living standards and supporting local development.

The company reaffirmed its commitment to delivering projects in line with approved timelines while maintaining the highest standards of quality and operational performance.

NWC emphasized that such initiatives contribute to its strategic objective of providing sustainable water services and improving quality of life, in alignment with the Quality of Life Program.

Through continued investments in infrastructure, NWC aims to strengthen water security and support long-term socio-economic growth across Saudi Arabia.
