Dr. Saleh Said Masan, Undersecretary of the Oman’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Commerce and Industry, has conducted an extensive field visit to the complexes of the ‘Tsingshan Holding Group’ in the People’s Republic of China.

The visit activated the cooperation program signed in October 2025, aiming to establish Oman’s first integrated green steel and downstream industries system, strengthening its position as a global industrial hub.

The Tsingshan delegation toured the company’s lithium battery production and energy storage facilities, where they were briefed on advanced production lines supplying renewable energy solutions to global markets. This aligns with Oman’s goal to localize clean energy supply chains, with battery technology supporting green hydrogen projects, grid sustainability, and the electric vehicle industry as part of the Industrial Strategy 2040.

The Undersecretary and his team met with the company’s Chairman and senior executives to discuss the master plan for an ‘Integrated Industrial City’ in Oman. They reviewed the necessary steps to accelerate the city’s development, ensuring efficient, cost-competitive production and global distribution of steel and batteries.

The Undersecretary and his delegation met with the company’s Chairman and senior executives to review the master plan for establishing an ‘Integrated Industrial City’ in Oman. Discussions focused on the key requirements to accelerate its development and ensure the cost-competitive export of finished products, including steel and batteries, to global markets.

Abdulaziz Ahmed Al Qasimi, Head of the Capital-Intensive Industries Section at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, underscored the strategic importance of the cooperation, noting that the integrated industrial city with Tsingshan Holding Group is a key pillar of the Industrial Strategy 2040. The project focuses on transferring and localizing advanced technologies in two priority sectors: green steel and energy storage.

He added that the visit to the battery factories reflects the Ministry’s integrated vision to combine Oman’s green hydrogen advantage with Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, enabling the production of high-value iron derivatives and smart energy solutions for the aviation and automotive sectors.

Tsingshan Holding Group, a Fortune Global 500 company and global leader in stainless steel and renewable energy materials, has selected Oman as a key investment destination. This choice underscores Oman’s role as a regional hub for green industries, supported by Tsingshan’s advanced low-carbon technologies and aligned with Oman Vision 2040’s goals of environmental sustainability and balanced economic growth.
