Ooredoo picks Fortinet Secure SD-WAN to boost Enterprise EDGE portfolio

Qatari multinational telecommunications company Ooredoo Group has selected US-based cybersecurity company Fortinet to improve its Enterprise EDGE portfolio based on the Fortinet Secure SD-WAN.

Enterprise EDGE is Ooredoo’s managed SD-WAN service that enables enterprise clients to mix and match services from a wide range of WAN connections to create a customized network.

According to the statement, “Having transformed its network to be SD-WAN ready, Ooredoo now offers a new capability unrivaled by traditional connectivity services.”

The alliance with Fortinet will offer Ooredoo access to a security-driven networking approach that consolidates SD-WAN functionality and next-generation firewall security in a single offering.

Fortinet is a global leader in broad, integrated, and automated cybersecurity solutions. The Fortinet Secure SD-WAN is designed to improve user experience and simplify operations at the WAN edge.

“Ooredoo customers can access to a secure SD-WAN solution that integrates next-generation firewall with advanced SD-WAN networking functionality to effectively protect customers’ data and applications along with a high level of visibility, reporting, control, and scalability,” as per the statement.

The solution can be blended with any standard connectivity services such as National IPVPN, business Internet, business broadband, or mobile broadband, adding value to conventional connectivity services by offering improved SD-WAN networking features such as application-aware traffic steering, dynamic path selection with service-level agreement (SLA) measurements, and self-healing capabilities, the company added.
