The Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) has showcased investment opportunities in the pharmaceutical sector to international companies taking part in Pharmaconex 2025 exhibition currently being held in Cairo.
Oman’s delegation at the Pharmaconex exhibition includes a team of high-level specialists and representatives from key economic and industrial entities. These include the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ), the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), as well as major free zones such as the Salalah Free Zone, Sohar Free Zone, and the Khazaen Economic Zone.
Together, these institutions reflect the Sultanate’s commitment to promoting investment opportunities, showcasing its industrial capabilities, and strengthening international partnerships across strategic sectors. The delegation aims to highlight Oman’s competitive advantages in logistics, manufacturing, and infrastructure development, while fostering greater collaboration with global investors and stakeholders.
OPAZ pavilion at Pharmaconex 2025 focuses on investment opportunities in the sector of pharmaceutical industries in the Sultanate of Oman’s economic, industrial and free zones. It also outlines the accomplishments made by companies operating in the sector and their key products. During a panel discussion held on the sidelines of the event, OPAZ reviewed the incentives offered to investors, as well as the advanced infrastructure that supports the investment environment in economic zones, free zones and industrial zones.
At Pharmaconex , emphasis was also laid on attracting a diverse range of stakeholders in the pharmaceutical sector, including biotechnology firms, active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) manufacturers, pharmaceutical packaging companies, and research and development (R&D) centers.
Efforts are also being directed toward engaging clinical research organizations, regulatory consultancies, and other key players involved in the pharmaceutical value chain. The goal is to create an integrated ecosystem that supports innovation, boosts local manufacturing capabilities, and strengthens Oman’s position as a regional hub for pharmaceutical and life sciences industries.
