Qatar Airways will operate a limited relief corridor from Hamad International Airport starting Saturday, March 7, following temporary authorization from the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority confirming a safe operating corridor.

The airline will conduct repatriation flights to London Heathrow (LHR), Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG), Madrid Barajas (MAD), Rome Fiumicino (FCO), and Frankfurt (FRA). Priority on these flights will be given to stranded passengers with families, elderly travelers, and those with urgent medical or compassionate travel needs. Each flight has been pre-allocated by Qatar Airways directly to affected passengers.

The airline stated that it is continuing its round-the-clock efforts to organize additional evacuation flights as soon as operational conditions allow and assured that travelers will be promptly updated once the flights are confirmed.

Not resumption! Affirms Qatar Airways

Qatar Airways emphasized that these flights do not mark a resumption of scheduled operations, as the airline continues to temporarily suspend flights while Qatar’s airspace remains closed. Normal operations will resume once the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority announces the safe reopening of the airspace, subject to approval by relevant authorities, the statement said.

The airline urged passengers not to proceed to the airport without official notification, stressing that affected travelers will be contacted directly with updates on flight schedules, travel arrangements, and procedures. Passengers are advised to keep contact details up to date via the airline’s website, or the Qatar Airways mobile app.

Qatar Airways also reaffirmed its commitment to passenger safety, and stated that the safety of passengers and employees will always remain top priority. The airline apologized for any inconvenience caused and thanked travelers for their patience and understanding.

Passengers holding confirmed bookings for travel between February 28 and March 15 may change travel dates or obtain a refund of the unused ticket without cancellation fees.

Qatar Tourism strengthens visitor support hotline

Meanwhile, Qatar Tourism affirmed its continued commitment to supporting visitors and working closely with partners in the tourism and hospitality sectors to ensure guests in the State of Qatar receive the necessary assistance and services during the current period.

Qatar Tourism has strengthened its tourism hotline (106) to assist guests with inquiries related to the current circumstances, advised travelers to wait for official communication from their airline regarding travel arrangements, and encouraged all visitors to monitor updates from official government and aviation sources, relying exclusively on verified channels for accurate information.
