Qatar’s Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al-Thani has confirmed that the country’s markets remain stable and well-supplied, despite ongoing regional tensions and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

Qatar has assured that essential goods remain secure, backed by long-term contingency planning and a robust supply chain monitoring system. The ministry’s operations center tracks goods in real time from entry points to retail outlets using advanced digital tools.

Over 300 inspectors are monitoring markets, with around 3,000 daily inspection campaigns ensuring compliance. Despite regional tensions and shipping disruptions, Qatar had pre-planned alternative logistics routes, which were activated immediately through a 24/7 emergency operations room.

To maintain steady supply, over 300 tones of essential goods have been airlifted via Qatar Airways, with a target of 1,000 tones in the coming days. While global prices may rise due to higher transport costs, authorities expect the impact to be limited and temporary, supported by adequate local stockpiles and efficient distribution.

Strict price monitoring is in place in Qatar, with legal action warned against violations or price manipulation. Consumers can report issues via hotline 16001 and digital platforms for quick response.

Meanwhile, domestic production continues to grow, with more than 138 food factories and over 2,000 local products in 2025. Strategic reserves of key commodities remain strong, intact, and unused, reinforcing overall supply stability.

The Qatari minister stated that the system is operating seamlessly, delivering over 500 digital services, with 95 percent already available online. It continues to function efficiently and reliably, while also providing timely and transparent updates to the public through official social media channels.
