QatarEnergy has signed a Production Sharing Agreement for the shallow-water Block S4 offshore the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, expanding its presence in one of the world’s most promising emerging energy basins, marking a strategic step in enhancing its international upstream operations.
The block was awarded to QatarEnergy as part of the 2022 Guyana Licensing Round, reflecting the growing international interest in the country’s rapidly emerging offshore energy potential and its expanding role in the global oil and gas sector.
Under the terms of the agreement, QatarEnergy will hold a 35 percent participating interest, while TotalEnergies, serving as the operator, will hold a 40 percent share. The remaining 25 percent will be held by PETRONAS, completing the consortium for the development of Block S4.
