Bapco Energies has launched the NBH Future Energy Leaders – Scholarship and Career Development Program, a national initiative designed to develop Bahraini talent for the energy sector through scholarships, mentorship, industry training and employment opportunities.

Aligned with the vision of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of Bapco Energies, the NBH Future Energy Leaders program aims to build a pipeline of future leaders to support Bahrain’s long-term energy sector development.

The initiative targets high-achieving high school graduates and bachelor’s degree holders pursuing postgraduate studies. Participants will receive access to international universities, academic support, mentorship, practical industry training and work placement opportunities tailored to the evolving needs of the energy industry.

The launch event was attended by Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy and Deputy Chairman of Bapco Energies; Stephanie L. Hallett, US Ambassador to Bahrain; and Alastair Long, UK Ambassador to Bahrain, alongside Bapco Energies board members, senior officials and representatives from the public and private sectors.

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad said Bahrain’s ‘greatest strength has always been its people’, describing the NBH Future Energy Leaders program as an investment in ‘minds before markets’ to secure the Kingdom’s energy future.

The NBH Future Energy Leaders program will operate under a framework focused on transparency, fairness and equal opportunity, with admissions based on merit and capability. It was developed in collaboration with Bahrain’s Ministry of Education, academic institutions, diplomatic missions and strategic partners, including the Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Program.
