Qatar Museums’ M7 creative start-up hub will join forces with Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), to strengthen the development of Qatar’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, particularly in the fiercely competitive world of fashion and design.

QSTP and M7 will identify the needs of ambitious start-ups in the fashion and design industries over the next two years and provide a unique environment for them to grow and prosper.

QSTP will provide full “idea-to-business” support to meet the rising interest in the application of innovation in design and the business of fashion in Qatar. These businesses should seek funding from both local and foreign investors, with the goal of eventually serving clients in Qatar and beyond.

QSTP and M7 will collaborate on a series of incubator events, specialized seminars and boot camps, as well as pitching events, as part of their partnership.

Mr. Ahmad Musa Al-Namla, CEO of Qatar Museums, said, “M7 joining hands with an established incubator such as QSTP means we are able to advance our shared vision to further nurture an entrepreneurial spirit in Qatar.”

Various programs, funding, and investment options offered by both entities will be introduced to start-ups in the sector. In addition, applicants will be provided with workspace, machinery, and infrastructure, as well as industry-leading mentoring and professional support.

Commenting on the partnership, QSTP’s Executive Director, Mr. Yosouf Al-Salehi said, “We view our partnership with M7 as a seamless alignment between two organizations that are fully committed to supporting innovation and entrepreneurial activity in Qatar.”

Globally, the fashion and design industries are at the forefront of technology innovations and make substantial contributions. Wearable technology, smart materials, and sustainable design are all examples of this, and they all contribute significantly to the global digital economy.

This opportunity will be seen as a cause of genuine value creation in the country as Qatar is a leading hub of technology development, innovation, and entrepreneurship. This partnership will open up new horizons for Qatar’s extremely competent and creative tech entrepreneurs, while also benefiting the economy and society as a whole.
