Rotary Club of Manama explores bilateral ties with British Ambassador

The Bahrain-based Rotary Club of Manama (RCM) recently hosted H E Roddy Drummond, the British Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, at the weekly meeting held at the Gulf Hotel Bahrain, Manama.

The meeting, which was attended by RCM President Mr. Osama Almoayed, club members, several guests and dignitaries, was aimed at highlighting the importance of transferring skills and enhancing bilateral relations between the two sides at all levels.

During the meeting, President Mr. Osama welcomed the British Ambassador and emphasized the Club’s interest in strengthening communication and cooperation between the two friendly countries in various fields for the benefit of both countries and their people.

On his part, the British Ambassador expressed his gratitude for inviting him as a distinguished guest and thanked the President and members of the Club for their warm welcome. At the same time, Ambassador Drummond highlighted the historic ties between Bahrain and the United Kingdom, and the royal patronage enjoyed by the leaders of both countries, wishing them continued progress and prosperity.

In addition, the Ambassador commended the active and significant role played by the Club in the Kingdom of Bahrain in providing support and contribution to the poorer sections of society, including widows, orphans and patients suffering from chronic diseases.

RCM forms part of Rotary International, the world’s first service club organization, with over 1.2 million members worldwide. Since its inception in 1965, RCM members have been actively involved and organizing major community initiatives and projects aimed at contributing to the community and making valuable contributions to the development of the community.
