Saudi Arabia and Belarus have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in the fields of accounting, auditing, and professional development.

Dr. Hussam Alangari, President of Saudi Arabia’s General Court of Audit (GCA), and Vasily Gerasimov, Chairman of the State Control Committee of Belarus, signed the agreement to enhance cooperation in public sector auditing.

The memorandum seeks to facilitate knowledge exchange, joint training programs, and the sharing of best practices between the two countries.

According to a press release issued by the General Court of Audit, the newly signed agreement between Saudi Arabia and Belarus outlines a comprehensive framework for cooperation in key areas of public sector auditing.

Both parties have committed to exchanging expertise and experiences in financial, compliance, and performance auditing, aiming to enhance institutional capacity and auditing standards in both countries.

The Saudi Arabia and Belarus MoU also paves the way for the implementation of joint research and advisory projects, allowing both institutions to benefit from shared insights and innovative approaches to audit practices. In addition, the agreement includes provisions for organizing bilateral meetings, specialized conferences, and professional training programs focused on topics of mutual interest.

These collaborative efforts will be carried out within the framework of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), reinforcing both countries’ commitment to international audit standards and global cooperation in public financial oversight.

Commenting on the signing, Alangari emphasized that this Saudi Arabia and Belarus MoU builds on a series of agreements the GCA has concluded with peer institutions in both brotherly and friendly nations. Collectively, these agreements highlight the GCA’s prominent professional standing at regional and international levels and reflect its commitment to sharing its specialized expertise with fellow members of global auditing organizations.

As per the statement, the Saudi Arabia and Belarus held a bilateral meeting to discuss issues of mutual interest and explore ways to enhance and activate cooperation across various fields.
