The General Court of Audit (GCA) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by its President Dr. Hussam Alangari, and the Auditor General of the National Audit Office of the Republic of The Gambia, Cherno Amadou Sowe, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at GCA headquarters in Riyadh.

The agreement seeks to enhance cooperation between the two institutions in the fields of accounting, auditing, and broader professional practices. This initiative forms part of GCA’s ongoing efforts to strengthen strategic collaboration with peer Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) in allied and friendly countries, with an emphasis on sharing expertise and developing joint initiatives that advance common objectives.

Under the MoU, both SAIs will work together to exchange technical knowledge, strengthen professional capacities, and develop practical guidelines in financial, compliance, and performance auditing. The cooperation will also include joint workshops and specialized training programs on areas of mutual interest, within the framework of their shared membership in the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI).

Dr. Alangari, the President of Saudi GCA reiterated GCA’s commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation and expanding partnerships with peer SAIs, highlighting its role within the global SAI community and its dedication to sharing its recognized professional expertise with member institutions of regional and international organizations.

Cherno Amadou Sowe, Auditor General of the National Audit Office of Gambia, emphasized the significance of the MoU in strengthening collaboration between the National Audit Office of The Gambia and the GCA. He noted that the agreement is expected to enhance audit efficiency, facilitate knowledge exchange, and improve the overall quality of audit work in both institutions.
