Saudi Electronic University’s President, Dr. Mohammed bin Yahya Mardhi has explored academic cooperation with the University of Strathclyde in the United Kingdom.

According to the statement, the discussions focused on strengthening collaboration in various educational and research fields.

The key topics addressed included the programmatic transformation project aimed at curriculum development, the launch of joint postgraduate programs, and the expansion of executive education initiatives across all university branches in the Kingdom.

Both sides also explored the introduction of industrial apprenticeship programs in human resources, finance, and logistics to enhance alignment between academic education and labor market needs.

This collaboration aligns with the university’s broader efforts to expand international partnerships in support of Saudi Vision 2030. By fostering global academic cooperation, the initiative seeks to advance higher education, enhance graduate competencies, and promote innovation and scientific research to address evolving global challenges and sustainable development goals.

For Strathclyde, this partnership may open doors to expand its reach in the Middle East and beyond, particularly in areas like digital transformation and educational innovation, as per the reports.

Recently, the Saudi Electronic University achieved a new international milestone by ranking seventh among Saudi universities in this year’s UI GreenMetric World University Ranking. This accomplishment reflects the university’s adherence to sustainability standards in educational indicators, infrastructure, environmental initiatives, and energy efficiency.

The university also ranked first locally and 33rd globally in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2024 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), marking a significant improvement from the previous year when the university ranked 201st and 300th in the same category.
