The Financial Academy of Saudi Arabia has concluded the ‘Shaping the Future of Saudi Financial Media’ program in London during a ceremony held at the main hall of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).

The event by Financial Academy marked the graduation of the program’s first cohort, reflecting accelerating national efforts to develop specialized financial media capabilities and strengthen the sector’s role in supporting transparency and informed economic discourse in the Kingdom.

The program is the first of its kind locally in financial media, responding to the growing demand for highly skilled professionals capable of understanding, interpreting, and analyzing complex economic data and financial indicators, and presenting them within a professional framework that balances accuracy, clarity, and accessibility, ultimately contributing to greater transparency and improved market efficiency.

It focused on equipping participants with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills to cover economic and financial issues professionally through comprehensive training tracks. These included financial media fundamentals, macroeconomics and key indicators, financial markets and securities, government budgets and corporate financial results, as well as in-depth coverage of strategic sectors such as energy and the global energy transition.

Moreover, the Saudi Financial Media program by the Financial Academy included a series of field visits to leading international institutions, including Bloomberg and CME Group, where participants explored firsthand how global financial data flows are generated, managed, and distributed across markets.

It also featured a visit to the Financial Times to examine advanced editorial models and ongoing digital transformation in financial journalism, in addition to visits to Saudi Research and Media Group (SRMG) and CNBC to review modern media platform management, newsroom operations, and best practices in televised economic and financial coverage.
