The Ministry of Interior of the United Arab Emirates and the Ministry of Interior of the State of Qatar have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to protect data and information related to joint security projects.
The MoU was signed during an official visit by a delegation from the UAE Ministry of Interior, headed by Major General Khalifa Harib Al Khaili, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Interior, to the State of Qatar.
Abdullah bin Khalaf bin Hattab Al-Kaabi, Undersecretary of the Qatari Ministry of Interior, received the delegation.
The agreement defines cooperation across six joint projects between the two ministries. These include network linkage between relevant systems, the bilateral electronic linkage system for traffic violations, and the integration of traffic systems between the two sides. It also includes procedures related to the transfer and recovery of financial amounts arising from traffic violations.
In addition, the MoU covers the electronic exchange of data and fingerprints of deported individuals and unidentified fingerprints to support identification processes and improve data accuracy within the relevant systems.
The scope of cooperation is also expected to facilitate the exchange of information through secure digital platforms between the two ministries.
Both sides stated that the agreement is intended to enhance coordination in the implementation of joint security projects and improve the efficiency of information exchange between the relevant authorities. It supports the use of advanced technologies in managing security-related data and systems.
The MoU further sets out a framework for developing existing areas of cooperation and strengthening integration between the two ministries in security services and related digital infrastructure.
