The Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) has expanded its operational and technical support for the Hajj season, strengthening advanced digital infrastructure across the Kingdom’s holy sites.
As part of this year’s enhanced preparations, SDAIA extended its services to 75 operational sites within the holy sites, in addition to 14 dedicated screening sites and security control centers.
This large-scale deployment ensures seamless coordination, high operational readiness, and uninterrupted technical support during one of the world’s largest annual mass gatherings.
Integrated technical systems
SDAIA’s efforts included the provision and supervision of advanced technical systems and digital services across field locations.
The authority also oversaw the setup of infrastructure and communications rooms, ensuring they were fully equipped to support mission-critical operations. Workstations were deployed and integrated directly into SDAIA’s secure network, enabling real-time data exchange and operational monitoring.
Working in close coordination with the Ministry of Interior and other government entities responsible for serving pilgrims, SDAIA ensured that digital systems were aligned with broader security and service frameworks.
This integrated approach enables improved decision-making, faster response times, and enhanced situational awareness across key operational points.
Preventive maintenance and workforce enablement
In addition to system deployment, SDAIA implemented preventive maintenance protocols to minimize technical disruptions during peak operational periods.
The authority also managed incoming technical reports, addressing them promptly to maintain uninterrupted service continuity across all connected sites.
A key component of the initiative involved training personnel assigned to field operations. Staff were equipped with the knowledge and skills required to operate modern digital systems and AI-enabled platforms, strengthening overall workforce readiness and efficiency.
Advancing AI and data-driven services
These initiatives form part of SDAIA’s broader strategy to develop an integrated digital ecosystem powered by data and artificial intelligence technologies.
By leveraging AI-driven solutions, SDAIA aims to enhance the efficiency of operational workflows, improve service delivery to pilgrims, and ensure higher levels of technical preparedness across the holy sites and associated entry points.
