The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has participated in the third Global Forum on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence, organized by UNESCO in the Thai capital, Bangkok.
During its participation, SDAIA presented its efforts in developing a comprehensive artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem and its commitment to forging fruitful national and international partnerships to drive sustainable development and positive societal and economic impact by harnessing the power of AI.
Abdullah bin Sulaiman Al-Khudairi, CEO of the Strategy Management Office at SDAIA, took part in a high-level session at the forum and highlighted the Kingdom’s key role in building an inclusive and forward-looking AI ecosystem.
Al-Khudairi emphasized that Saudi Arabia’s approach is focused on aligning technological investments with national development priorities outlined in Kingdom Vision 2030. It also seeks to address the developmental needs of society.
The CEO affirmed that Saudi Arabia, through SDAIA, is dedication to expanding local and international partnerships to fuel the responsible adoption of AI technologies.
The Kingdom’s experience is developed on robust collaboration between government entities, the private sector, and academic institutions, and is guided by the adoption of a national framework for AI ethics that fosters transparency and ensures the safe, inclusive use of emerging technologies.
Al-Khudairi stressed that the Kingdom’s cutting-edge digital infrastructure has played a key role in driving several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by leveraging the full potential of AI technologies.
Furthermore, the CEO underscored the role of institutional, technical, and human capacity development in transitioning AI initiatives from pilot stages to impactful applications in public policy and service delivery.
