The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with IBM, a global technology innovator.

The MoU is aimed to develop and enhance data processing and analytics using artificial intelligence, and to explore the establishment of a secure data system based on IBM’s watsonx.data to facilitate data management and increase its efficiency.

The partnership also seeks to strengthen cooperation between the two sides in utilizing watsonx.data to automate the collection and integration of data from various sources, establish and apply systems and rules to ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance within a unified environment, in addition to expanding software development and localization within the Kingdom.

This memorandum comes as part of SDAIA’s ongoing efforts to enhance international cooperation in the fields of data and artificial intelligence and to support the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 by building strategic partnerships with leading global technology companies, including American firms, to localize advanced technologies, transfer knowledge, and develop national capabilities by leveraging their expertise.

In line to enhance the AI adoption in the talent pool across the region, SDAIA Academy announced the opening of registration for the AI Professionals Bootcamp, an intensive two-month training program aimed at building the capabilities of technical specialization graduates and equipping them with the knowledge and skills to qualify for working in building, developing, and deploying artificial intelligence systems.
