The Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) has opened the registration for data service and product providers on the National Data Governance Platform.
The registration service allows companies to formally enroll as providers of data services and products, while also enabling the public to access and review a list of registered entities.
In addition, approved organizations can apply for license issuance through the platform, and the public can view a directory of licensed entities categorized by license type.
The initiative forms part of the broader efforts of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority to regulate activities related to personal data protection and support organizations in obtaining the necessary licenses to operate in line with the Personal Data Protection Law and its implementing regulations.
The authority added that technical standards governing licensing activities, including the issuance of certifications for data control and processing entities, as well as auditing and examination of personal data processing, will be announced in the near future. Entities interested in registering can access the registration guide and submit their applications through the National Data Governance Platform.
SDAIA registration process for data providers
SDAIA has outlined the registration process for private-sector entities wishing to become providers of data services and products in the Kingdom.
The first step requires appointing the entity’s legal representative through the Saudi Business Center.
After the appointment, the representative must access the National Data Governance Platform to begin the process. Applicants can then view the registration list and select the ‘Registration of Data Services and Products Providers‘ service.
The process requires logging in through the Nafath National Single Sign-On Platform, after which the legal representative appoints a data registration and licensing officer. This designated officer is responsible for completing the entity’s information in the official registration form.
Once the required information is submitted, the entity must review and accept the terms, conditions, and declarations related to the service before submitting the final registration request.
The SDAIA initiative targets all private-sector entities operating within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Completing the registration is a prerequisite for receiving priority consideration in later regulatory stages related to licensing and accreditation.
