Sharjah Expo Center, the organizer of the Watch & Jewelry Middle East Show (WJMES) is considering hosting small-scale jewelry shows at Expo Al Dhaid and Expo Khor Fakkan, which will increase the number of jewelry shows hosted in Sharjah to five each year.

Mr. Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah said that the Watch & Jewellery Middle East Show (WJMES), which is organized biannually by the Centre, has achieved great successes across its 49 editions.

The 50th edition of WJMES is expected to open next October. Mr. Al Midfa explained that they want to turn the event into one of the best jewelry shows in the Middle East and Africa region, with a special fashion show to showcase the latest jewelry collections with various additions and surprises.

The CEO praised the teamwork on the success of the event. He highlighted the directives and absolute support extended by H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and the dedication of the organizing teams.

“During the past editions, we were able to identify top markets in the field of jewelry and precious stones, and the different tastes and needs of audiences. Despite the challenges that the region is currently witnessing, we were able to make the latest edition of WJMES a success at all levels.”

The Jewels of Emirates show, organized by the Center during the COVID-19 pandemic on the instructions of the ruler of Sharjah to continue to host major events, was a great success with the support of visitors and exceeded the expectations of exhibitors, inspiring the organizers to host the second edition. The third is currently being prepared and is expected to have wider participation and more diverse content.

Mr. Al-Midfa commented that WJMES is helping to lead the emirate’s economy by helping to increase contributions to the tourism, hospitality and transportation sectors.
