Qatar’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has advanced the digital transformation of SMEs through its flagship ‘SMEs Go Digital’ Program.

The program provides a structured pathway for SMEs to enhance their digital capabilities, streamline operations, and build resilient, future-ready business models. The initiative targets SMEs operating across key sectors, including retail and wholesale, transportation and logistics, tourism, education, and healthcare.

It utilizes comprehensive digital maturity assessments and structured transformation roadmaps to identify priority digital requirements and implement solutions aligned with each enterprise’s strategic objectives and growth plans.

SMEs participating in the program have benefited from specialized training sessions conducted in partnership with global technology leaders Microsoft and Google Cloud. These sessions concentrated on Microsoft platforms and Google Cloud’s AI-powered solutions, empowering SMEs to harness emerging technologies for enhanced operational efficiency and business expansion.

In addition, MCIT collaborated with national partners, including the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE), Ministry of Public Health (MOPH), and Qatar Tourism, to deliver sector-specific awareness sessions.

These initiatives highlighted practical AI use cases and digital transformation priorities, aligning SME adoption strategies with Qatar’s broader national objectives.

The program has delivered tangible results, with participating SMEs successfully adopting 30 digital solutions across areas such as customer relationship management (CRM), enterprise resource planning (ERP), and digital payment systems. These implementations have strengthened business processes and enhanced overall digital maturity among SMEs.

Further reinforcing the digital ecosystem, the program organized 94 matchmaking sessions connecting SMEs with 59 approved technology service providers, facilitating collaboration and integration opportunities in partnership with Qatar Development Bank. The SMEs Go Digital Program is aligned with Qatar’s Digital Agenda 2030, supporting the creation of an innovation-driven business ecosystem.

Eligibility for the program is open to SMEs registered in Qatar, employing up to 250 staff members, and generating annual revenues not exceeding $27.3 million (QAR 100 million).
