Spend the night in a tent at one of the best airports of the world

You may have imagined pitching up a tent under the stars, in an outdoor setting. But you would never have imagined doing so inside an airport!

Half of the fun in traveling lies in spending time at airports. The fragrance, the chill ambiance, the aroma of food and the thrill of shopping begins at airports even before the actual fun of your destination commences.

This year was one which had limited travelling, but it did not stop airlines from trying innovative stuff to attract potential travelers. The year was marked with fascinating things in the aviation industry, from launching flights to nowhere to starting cafes inside aircraft.

Singapore’s Jewel Changi Airport is one of the best in the world and has grand plans to fulfill the year-end wanderlust if you too are a lover of airports. Jewel, the retail complex at the airport, has opened its scenic attractions to host overnight stays. The experience has been described as a “glamp-cation” by the authorities.

Guests will have the opportunity to camp in a glamorous tents filled with modern comforts such as an air cooler, blankets, sleeping pillows, bath facilities, and even a queen or single-size bed to comfortably snooze away.

Glamp-cation in the Clouds at Cloud9 Piazza, the highest floor of Jewel, or Glamp-cation in Shiseido Forest Valley, surrounded by 900 trees and palms and 60,000 shrubs, are two great locations to choose from. The tents are spacious, regardless of your choice of location, and can comfortably accommodate three adults, or two adults and two children.

The experience promises stunning views including that of the Rain Vortex, the biggest indoor waterfall in the world. The glamp-cation fun is enhanced with perks like Canopy Park tickets, admission to the Changi Experience Studio or Manulife Sky Nets, free parking, and more.

For those who are not keen on spending the night here, there is an equally exciting daytime-only experience available. You and a bunch of friends can get together to relax in an air-conditioned tent located on the Cloud9 Piazza. Bring your food but amenities of table cloth, disposable cutleries, cooler box, and cushion seats will be provided. Prices for the Glamp-cation in the Clouds and Glamp-cation at Shiseido Forest Valley experience start from $320 on weekdays, and $360 on weekends.
