The South Korea-based multinational electronics company, LG will be launching a futuristic electronic mask at IFA 2020 next week. The company has named this electronic mask LG PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier.

LG PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier comes with two H13 HEPA filters which are similar to the ones used in its home air purifier products. With Dual Fans and the Respiratory Sensor, the air purifier allows users to take in clean and filtered air.

In fact, the mask’s sensor detects the rhythm and pace of your breathing, which lets it adjust the speed of those fans to match your inhales and exhales.

Effectively, they speed up to help you breathe in, then slow down to make sure your exhale can escape the mask efficiently.

The mask also comes with an intelligently-designed case, featured UV-LED lights to clean the mask while it charges. The case can even send a notification to the LG ThinQ mobile app when the filters need to be replaced for peak performance.

Regarding battery life, the 820mAh battery in the mask offers up to eight hours of operation in low mode and up to two hours on high.

Each part of the mask can be recycled making it an eco-friendly alternative to other masks available on the market.

Commenting on the launch, Dan Song, president of LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company said, “The PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier is an exciting addition to our growing lineup of products designed to deliver meaningful health and hygiene benefits. At a time when consumers are seeking ways to make life safer and more convenient, it’s important that we’re able to offer solutions that add measurable value.”

The new wearable surely addresses the issues that arise out of the inconsistency found in homemade masks, and the shortage of disposal masks.

The device will be available in the fourth quarter of this year in select markets.
