UAE & Bahrain discuss human rights cooperation

The UAE Foreign Affairs Ministry, has met with Bahraini counterpart to discuss bilateral cooperation in safeguarding human rights.

Mr. Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State at the UAE Foreign Affairs Ministry received Ambassador Dr. Yousif Abdulkareem Bucheeri, Director-General of Legal Affairs and Human Rights at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who is on a visit to the UAE to participate in the second coordination meeting between the human rights sectors in the two countries’ foreign affairs ministries, held in Abu Dhabi.

Minister of State Mr. Al Marar praised the uniqueness of the deep-rooted fraternal relations between the two countries, stressing the importance of continuing joint consultation and coordination on various human rights issues, given the great importance this area has at the level of both bilateral and multilateral relations.

Mr. Al Marar also stressed the need to highlight the success stories of the two countries in the field of human rights, especially regarding their efforts to promote peaceful coexistence and religious tolerance at international gatherings.

The Legal Affairs and Human Rights Director-General expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Minister of State for his continued support for the joint coordination meeting, wishing the UAE every success in hosting and chairing the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28).
