Bahrain and Türkiye have explored opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation in the space sector, focusing on space science, technology, innovation, and research.
The discussions took place during a meeting between Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim Al Aseeri, Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain Space Agency (BSA), and Dr. Ayşe Hilal Sayan Koytak, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to the Kingdom of Bahrain, to review opportunities for cooperation in the space sector.
The two sides discussed collaboration in space science and technology, including innovation, knowledge exchange, and future joint initiatives.
They also exchanged views on strengthening cooperation between specialized institutions to support scientific research, technological development, and capacity building.
The meeting highlighted the importance of closer collaboration between research institutions in Bahrain and Türkiye to facilitate knowledge exchange, strengthen national capabilities, and contribute to the development of knowledge- and innovation-based economies.
Dr. Al Aseeri said that the Bahrain Space Agency remains committed to building international partnerships that support knowledge transfer, strengthen national capabilities, and expand cooperation in the space sector in line with the agency’s strategic objectives.
Mohamed Ibrahim Al Aseeri added that international cooperation plays an important role in enhancing expertise, promoting knowledge exchange, and supporting the continued development of Bahrain’s space sector.
Ambassador Koytak commended Bahrain’s progress in the space sector and emphasized the importance of maintaining coordination between the relevant institutions in Bahrain and Türkiye.
Dr. Ayşe Hilal Sayan Koytak noted that stronger cooperation would support joint initiatives in the space sector while expanding collaboration in science, technology, and research.
The meeting forms part of ongoing efforts by Bahrain and Türkiye to strengthen cooperation in scientific and technological fields and identify new opportunities for collaboration in research, innovation, and space-related activities.
