The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) of the United Arab Emirates has activated operational plans to contain the repercussions of developments taking place in the region.

GCAA affirmed that the UAE’s aviation sector continues to manage passenger traffic in an organised and flexible manner, mitigating the impact of successive flight schedule amendments, limiting operational disruptions, and ensuring smooth procedures across airport terminals nationwide.

The Authority stated that the country’s airports and national carriers are working in an integrated manner to manage operational traffic in accordance with approved plans. Measures implemented include the rerouting of certain flights between the country’s airports, the acceleration of rescheduling processes, and the strengthening of on-ground coordination within passenger terminals to address any potential congestion.

GCAA announced that the State is bearing all hosting and accommodation costs for affected and stranded passengers, ensuring the continued provision of essential services during the period of operational adjustments.

Over the past several hours, the country’s airports and national carriers have assisted around 20,200 passengers impacted by flight rescheduling. Affected travelers were provided with temporary accommodation, meals and refreshments, while rebooking procedures were carried out in accordance with the approved operational plans.

In coordination with the relevant authorities, national carriers also managed a number of inbound and outbound flights affected by operational circumstances. Passengers were transported to their final destinations within the country, transit travelers received temporary accommodation, and all regulatory procedures were completed in line with established frameworks.

GCAA confirmed that close coordination between airports and airlines remains ongoing to monitor flight movements and adjust schedules as needed, facilitating the safe and orderly return to normal operations when conditions allow.

It also reiterated its call for passengers to stay updated through official channels and to contact their respective airlines directly for the latest information regarding their flights.
