HE Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, the UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), has held discussions with Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu, Minister of Civil Aviation of India.

The UAE and Indian ministers explored ways to enhance joint cooperation in the civil aviation sector and further develop the bilateral partnership to support economic and investment growth between the two countries.

The discussions took place during a bilateral meeting at the ‘Wings of India 2026’ Conference in Hyderabad, where both sides emphasized the strong and growing UAE–India relations, particularly in the economic and tourism sectors. This progress is reflected in the steady growth of air travel and transport activity between the two countries.

HE Bin Touq highlighted the strong air traffic between the UAE and India, with 1,231 weekly direct flights, a clear reflection of the high demand and robust connectivity between the two countries. He noted that India accounts for 14 percent of all international arrivals to the UAE, emphasizing the success of the UAE’s flexible and dynamic tourism policies, as well as the depth of the bilateral relationship. This growth in air traffic and tourism underscores the strong economic, cultural, and people-to-people ties that continue to flourish.

The UAE minister further emphasized that ongoing cooperation in aviation and tourism will be pivotal in sustaining this positive momentum, helping both nations expand their economic horizons and enhance travel connectivity, which in turn will support the continued prosperity of both countries and their peoples.

The meeting comes as part of the mutual keenness to expand areas of cooperation in the aviation sector, aligning with the rapid growth of bilateral relations between the UAE and India. This collaboration aims to support broader economic development and foster deeper ties, while also enhancing air transport, travel connectivity, and overall movement of people and goods between the two countries.
