The United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Uzbekistan have reviewed avenues to deepen bilateral cooperation during high-level meetings held on the sidelines of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, underscoring the growing strategic partnership between the two countries across economic, sustainability and development-focused sectors.
HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, received Jamshid Khodjaev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, where both sides discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in key areas, including trade, investment, renewable energy and environmental sustainability.
The meeting also addressed topics on the agenda of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026 and its role as a leading global platform for advancing international collaboration on sustainability, clean energy and climate-related challenges.
HH Sheikh Abdullah praised the steady growth in UAE-Uzbekistan relations, highlighting the shared commitment to strengthening friendship and cooperation in areas that support development priorities and sustainable economic prosperity. The two sides also exchanged views on current regional and international developments. The meeting was attended by Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure.
In a related engagement, HH Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of 2PointZero Group, also met with Jamshid Khodjaev in Abu Dhabi to discuss expanding economic and investment cooperation between private sector institutions in both countries.
The discussions focused on enhancing partnerships in strategically important sectors, including advanced technology and artificial intelligence, energy and mining, smart digital metering systems, agriculture, and other priority sectors that support long-term economic growth in both nations.
Both sides stressed the importance of building on existing partnerships and leveraging the complementary capabilities of the UAE and Uzbekistan to pursue joint projects that promote economic growth and support comprehensive and sustainable development.

The meeting was attended by Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri, Vice Chair and Managing Director of 2PointZero Group, Ajay Bhatia, CEO of Sirius International Holding, Mohamed Hesham, CEO of ePointZero, and Ali Al Rashdi, CEO of International Resources Holding.
The series of meetings reflects the strengthening momentum in UAE-Uzbekistan relations, with both sides seeking to advance cooperation across government and private sectors, particularly in sustainability-driven industries, innovation-led growth, and investment partnerships aligned with long-term development objectives.
