Senior Qatari officials have held high-level meetings with a visiting delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Laziz Kudratov, the Uzbek Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade, focusing on expanding trade, investment cooperation, and private sector partnerships between the two countries.
The discussions involved Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) Dr. Ahmad bin Mohammed Al Sayed, as well as leadership from the Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZ).
During the meeting, the officials reviewed ways to strengthen economic ties between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Uzbekistan, with a focus on expanding bilateral trade and investment flows.
Discussions covered potential investment projects, enhanced economic cooperation frameworks, and other areas of mutual interest aimed at supporting long-term economic partnership.
QFZ CEO explores investment ties
In a separate meeting, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Faisal Al-Thani, Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZ), has met with Uzbek Minister Laziz Kudratov and his delegation to further explore investment cooperation.
The discussions emphasized opportunities within Qatar’s free zones, including incentives and benefits designed to attract Uzbek companies to establish operations in Qatar and expand regional business activities.

Uzbekistan delegates visit Ras Bufontas Free Zone
Following the meeting, the Uzbek delegation toured the Business Innovation Park at the Ras Bufontas Free Zone. Senior officials from QFZ accompanied the delegation during the visit, showcasing infrastructure and investment-ready facilities.
The meetings reflect ongoing efforts by Qatar and Uzbekistan to deepen economic cooperation, strengthen investment ties, and expand opportunities for private sector engagement across trade, industry, and free zone development.
