The first edition of the world’s largest technology event, the Black Hat MEA has kicked off in Riyadh, under the patronage of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Entertainment Authority Mr. Turki bin Abdulmohsen Al Al-Sheikh.

The event, officially launched for the first time in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), was organized by the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones (SAFCSP) in partnership with the General Entertainment Authority, in the presence of a number of princess, ministers and senior officials.

Mr. Al-Sheikh welcomed participants who came from various countries and expressed happiness at organizing and hosting the biggest technology event at an international level.

“This indicated that Saudi Arabia enjoys big confidence and boosts its pioneering and global status in digital and technological fields. All previous and current achievements would not have been realized without the support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Salman,” the Chairman noted.

Mr. Al-Sheikh further added that hosting Black Hat is part of the Authority’s efforts to realize targets of the Saudi Vision 2030, where hundreds of young Saudis compete with their peers from 35 countries in the biggest competition of its kind at the international level.

Mr. Faisal Al Khamisi, Chairman of SAFCSP, said that “the federation is proud to work with Black Hat to deliver one of the world’s largest and most iconic cybersecurity events, right here, in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”
