UAE-based Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) Distribution has begun its home delivery service to bring daily essentials straight to customers’ homes.

ADNOC, which operates hundreds of retail fuel service stations and convenience stores, said the new service will be accessible to customers from select ADNOC Oasis convenience stores in Abu Dhabi. Customers can arrange for staff to deliver daily essentials directly to their doorstep through the Talabat app and company website.

“As we continue to make things as accessible as possible for our customers, we want to ensure they have access to the essentials they need safely and conveniently”
– Ahmed Al Shamsi,
Acting CEO – ADNOC Distribution

Demand for home deliveries has been on the rise since the early days of the outbreak in February. As people stayed in the confines of their homes to avoid contracting the virus, supermarket and grocery operators were swamped with customer bookings.

Recently Hypermarket operation Union Cooperative published a 223 percent increase in online sales to 18.7 million UAE dirhams ($5 million) during the first three months of the year. The number of new customers who signed up for the cooperative’s online store between March and April 21, 2020, also nearly doubled from 38,816 to 61,664.
