Bahrain and Pakistan strengthen bilateral security cooperation

Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Minister of Interior and Narcotics Control of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, has arrived in Manama for a one-day official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral security ties between Pakistan and Bahrain.

General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, received Syed Mohsin upon his arrival in Bahrain, at the Ministry of Interior Headquarters located in Manama Fort.

During a high-level meeting with Bahrain’s Interior Minister, General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, focusing on enhanced cooperation in counter-terrorism, anti-human trafficking, and narcotics control.

The two ministers also exchanged views on tackling regional and global security challenges and agreed to revitalize the Pakistan-Bahrain Joint Security Committee to enhance coordination and information sharing between the two countries.

General Al Khalifa appreciated Pakistan’s longstanding support and stated that Minister Naqvi’s visit would further strengthen the robust security partnership between the two nations.

Minister Naqvi emphasized the importance of deepening institutional collaboration between the interior ministries, particularly in addressing transnational crimes such as drug trafficking and human smuggling. He also extended a formal invitation to his Bahraini counterpart to visit Pakistan.

Discussions also covered enhancing cooperation in security efforts, addressing regional and global challenges, and developing the work of the Bahrain-Pakistan joint security committee.

The meeting was attended by Bahrain’s Deputy Interior Minister Major General Adel bin Khalifa bin Hamad, the Chief of Public Security, senior military officials, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Bahrain Saqib Rauf, and other senior diplomats from both sides.
