The Bahrain Nationality, Passports, and Residence Affairs (NPRA) at the Ministry of Interior has introduced exceptional measures concerning visit visas amid travel disruptions resulting from the suspension and cancellation of several flights affecting the Kingdom.

According to Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for NPRA, holders of all types of visit visas who are currently inside Bahrain and whose permitted stay expired on or after February 28, 2026, will be exempted from fines related to delayed departure from the country.

The exemption will remain valid for one month following the reopening of Bahrain’s airspace, providing relief to visitors unable to leave the country due to flight disruptions.

The NPRA also announced additional support measures for travelers outside Bahrain who had previously secured visit visas.

Visit visas that were valid as of February 28, 2026, will be extended for an additional three months for visitors who applied for visas before that date but were unable to travel to the Kingdom due to exceptional circumstances linked to the flight suspensions.

The temporary measures aim to ease the challenges faced by travelers affected by the disruption of air travel while ensuring that visitors are not penalized for circumstances beyond their control.

For inquiries and further assistance, visit visa holders can contact NPRA through its Call Centre, via WhatsApp, through the virtual assistant available on NPRA’s electronic channels, or by email.

The NPRA reaffirmed its commitment to facilitating procedures for travelers and addressing exceptional situations in a timely manner.

Authorities also urged the public to rely on official communication channels for updates regarding visa policies and travel procedures as the situation evolves.
