Explore InterTabac 2026, a global tobacco-industry event in Dortmund, Germany, from 15–17 September, featuring 800 suppliers and 14,500 trade visitors from around 80 countries.

The premium cigar market is constantly evolving. New brands are entering international markets, consumer expectations are changing, and specialist retailers are expected to offer expert advice that goes far beyond mere product recommendations. Success increasingly depends on knowledge, confidence, and staying ahead of industry trends.

This is exactly where InterTabac 2026 delivers real value. From 15-17 September in Dortmund, Germany, the world’s leading trade fair for the tobacco industry once again brings together manufacturers, importers, distributors, retailers, and experts from across the globe. More than an exhibition, InterTabac is a place where business relationships are built, product portfolios are expanded, and valuable expertise is shared.

Visitors can discover premium cigars firsthand by tasting, comparing, and discussing products directly with the people behind the brands. These personal conversations provide a strong foundation for informed purchasing decisions and long-term business success.

A brand-new addition to the program is “Decoding Cigars – by ICSI.” Led by Anthony Azar, founder of the International Cigar Sommelier Institute (ICSI), the workshop introduces a structured approach to understanding cigar performance, combustion, and flavor evolution. Drawing on more than 30 years of experience, Azar combines practical knowledge with scientific principles, giving retailers new tools to evaluate cigars, improve customer consultations, and make more confident purchasing decisions. The workshop takes place daily from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Another exciting addition focuses on the people behind every purchase. In THE MODERN CIGAR CONSUMER SERIESMechelle Merkerson, founder of Cigars with M and certified Cigar Sommelier, explores how today’s consumers discover, experience, and connect with premium cigars. Topics include the influence of digital platforms, the growing role of women in the cigar industry, and the importance of storytelling in building strong brands. The masterclasses are held daily from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Beyond the workshops, InterTabac offers plenty of opportunities for networking and inspiration. At the Crossover Lounge (North Entrance NE.D02)Jens Tausch, Cigar & Spirits Consultant, introduces visitors to expertly matched cigar and spirits pairings in a relaxed atmosphere. No registration is required, making it an ideal stop for anyone looking to discover new flavor combinations and exchange ideas with fellow professionals.

Visitors who want to gain an even greater knowledge advantage are encouraged to arrive one day early for the Cigar Culture Summit on 14 September. The summit brings together international experts to discuss market trends, consumer behavior, and the future of premium cigars, providing the perfect introduction to three days of business at InterTabac.
