The operator of Dubai Parks and Resorts, DXB Entertainments has announced that its Legoland hotel is projecting to open in December this year.

The Dubai-based company, which announced its third-quarter results, reported a 97 percent year-on-year drop in revenues to $544k (Dh2 million), while compared to the $21 million (Dh78 million) in Q3 2019. However, during the period, it posted a 21 percent improvement in its EBITDA loss to hit $14 million (Dh54 million).

The theme park complex, which was closed due to the pandemic from March until September this year, announced that it had seen 6,02,000 visitors in the first nine months, 67 percent fall from the same time last year. So far, Dubai Parks has only reopened Motiongate, it’s Hollywood themed park.

In the meantime, DXB Entertainments has announced that its enhancement plan is underway with new rides scheduled to open soon in the destination.

The Legoland hotel is a joint venture with the Merlin Entertainment Company of the UK and the announcement about the setting up of the hotel was first revealed in early 2017.

The hotel is being constructed on 300,000 square feet of land adjacent to the theme park of Legoland Dubai and will feature Lego models in every room, a disco elevator, castle play area and themed rooms.
