Federal Express Corporation (FedEx), the express transportation company, has launched the FedEx Import Tool (FiT) in Saudi Arabia.
The FedEx Import Tool helps businesses of all sizes manage the growing import volume into the Kingdom more efficiently and with greater control.
The new platform combines advanced technology with an intuitive user interface to transform the import process.
Designed to enhance efficiency, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide end-to-end shipment visibility, FiT supports imports of all sizes, from lightweight parcels to palletized freight.
Key features of the single-window platform include:
- Centralized Shipment Management: A unified self-service interface for managing documentation and tracking shipments.
- Enhanced Visibility: A comprehensive dashboard offering insights into every stage of import operations.
- Proactive Notifications: Real-time alerts to expedite customs clearance and minimize delays.
- Direct Payment Capability: Online settlement of customs duties and taxes for faster processing.
- 24×7 Monitoring: Shipment tracking up to 90 days post-pickup for greater transparency.
Nitin Tatiwala, Vice President of Marketing, Customer Experience, and Air Network for FedEx Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and Africa stated that, “As Saudi Arabia strengthens its position as a leading global trade hub, the ability to move imports efficiently and compliantly has become a key competitive advantage. FiT demonstrates how digital intelligence can help businesses navigate import requirements with certainty, improved visibility, and seamless customs clearance, supporting the Kingdom’s trade facilitation and economic diversification objectives.”
According to Saudi Customs data, merchandise imports rose 4 percent year-on-year in October 2025, reaching $21.63 billion (SAR 80.1 billion), with China, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates ranking as the top three source markets.
As import activity diversifies across industrial, healthcare, and consumer sectors, businesses are navigating increasing shipment volumes alongside stricter regulatory and documentation requirements.
The introduction of FiT in Saudi Arabia reinforces FedEx’s expanded local operations, including direct management of pickup, delivery, and customs clearance.
The platform aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, enabling more efficient, transparent, and compliant import processes as trade volumes continue to grow.
