The strategic meeting held between the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and United States President Donald Trump, has reaped potential bilateral ties.
Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United States, highlighted that the high-level meeting represents a pivotal milestone in the long-standing and steadily growing Bahrain-US relationship.
Shaikh Abdulla noted that the visit reflects both nations’ deep-rooted ties, built over more than 130 years on shared values, mutual respect, and common strategic interests.
During the official engagements, Crown Prince met with President Trump, US Vice President JD Vance, the US Secretary of Defense, the US Trade Representative, and other senior members of the administration. Ambassador Shaikh Abdulla said these meetings underscored the depth of mutual trust and cooperation between the two countries and set the stage for enhanced partnerships in defense, trade, energy, and digital transformation.
Security Ties
One of the key themes of the visit was reinforcing the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA), signed in 2023, which formalized a strategic security and economic framework between Bahrain and the US. The ambassador highlighted the recent accession of the United Kingdom to the agreement, an expansion that reflects its rising international significance and growing role in strengthening multilateral cooperation for regional peace and security.
Aviation
On the economic front, Crown Prince’s visit saw the announcement of a landmark agreement between Gulf Air and Boeing worth $4.6 billion for the purchase of 18 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. Ambassador Shaikh Abdulla said this deal will accelerate Gulf Air’s growth and expand its footprint in global aviation markets. It also led to the announcement of a new direct flight route between Bahrain and New York (JFK), a development expected to boost trade, tourism, and cultural ties between the two nations.
Investments
He added that Bahrain’s direct investments in the US economy currently total approximately $10.7 billion, made through Bahraini banks and companies, underscoring the strength and strategic value of the bilateral economic relationship.
Energy Deals
In the field of energy, the ambassador noted the signing of a bilateral agreement on the peaceful use of nuclear energy. The agreement is designed to enhance scientific collaboration and technical capacity in line with Bahrain’s climate strategy, which includes a commitment to carbon neutrality by 2060. It also aligns with global environmental and sustainability goals.
Digital Infrastructure
Another notable outcome of the visit was the signing of a government digital transformation agreement with global technology leader Cisco. Ambassador Shaikh Abdulla described it as a major step in strengthening Bahrain’s digital infrastructure and fostering a knowledge-based economy. He noted that Bahrain’s advanced regulatory environment and its wide network of trade agreements, including the Bahrain–US Free Trade Agreement, have positioned the Kingdom as a gateway for US companies to access regional markets.

Strategic Dialogues
Commenting on the Crown Prince’s meeting with Vice President JD Vance, the ambassador said the discussions reflected shared ambitions in the areas of innovation, economic diversification, and strategic security cooperation. The two leaders reviewed ways to expand collaboration that benefits both nations and supports sustainable development.
