Instagram to let users embed profile on third-party website

Meta-owned photo and video sharing platform, Instagram is rolling out a new feature that lets users to embed a mini-version of their profiles on websites.

The feature launching was announced by Instagram head Mr. Adam Mosseri in a twitter post which explained its functionality, that is, the Users will be able to embed their Instagram content on third-party websites or connect to someone else’s profile using the new Profile Embed feature. The company has also highlighted the recently announced Playback feature for Instagram Stories and Reels Visual Replies.

The Playback feature allows users to create an end-of-year collection of up to 10 Stories to share with their followers. The Reels Visual Replies lets to respond to comment with a Reels video of up to 60 seconds.

The new Reels Visual Replies feature is similar to TikTok’s video replies, which allows users to reply to comments on their content with videos. Last year, TikTok introduced the feature to let users to add additional context to their videos and reply to inquiries.

To avail the “Playback” IG Stories time capsule feature, users need to have posted more than three stories this year or have Stories Archive turned on. Instagram recommends Playback posts for users, but users also have the option to pick what they want to share. The new feature is currently available to users for “several weeks.”

Initially the Profile Embed feature will be only available in the US. With the new feature, users will be able to preview the Instagram handle before sharing. It will help Instagram creators, brands, and businesses to promote their Instagram profiles on third-party websites easily. The global roll out of the feature is not disclosed.
